Red Couch...Hcoucder...

I have come to the conclusion that I really like the colors red and turquoise together. I don't have any idea why, but when I see them together it makes me happy...:) Today I'm going to share with you my lovely and comfy red couches. Yes...I did say red. Not a lovely light and bright shade of red, but a creepy, blood spewing stab wound color red. I know, I know...you ask "why would you want dark red couches". WELLLLLL...initially I was going for the beige ones, but alas, these looked so good in my minds eye of an Italian themed room. I have since decided I really like turqoise and red together and since I'm bound and determined to redo all my furniture anyways, why not start with the couches! Here's what I've got to work with. Please excuse the clutter...again, I have no where to put the overflow of crafting stuff so it ends up under, behind and on top of things...:) (if you click on the photos you can see them and my snarky remarks I've so cleverly added to them).

Here are a few fabrics I've been toying with:

SO...now you see what I have to deal with. And YES, that lamp does have a mate...currently it's sitting on my desk. Once I get the new side table painted it will join it's brother in harmony next to the couch. I'm hoping once the side tables are painted...the lamp brothers are painted, the new pillows are covered, and I've changed the drapes, the room will be a little more happier. Grand plans I know, but keeping my expectations high so I don't chicken out...;P

Heck...it's only a dollar!

Happy Friday my blog reading peeps...:) Today I'm posting my first project that I've actually completed. I know, I know...I said I was going to have a project done with the items I showed you in my last post. Well, it's still a work in progress. Meaning, there's progress towards me purchasing the items to do the project...:)

This current project I actually had the items already stored away neatly in the 2 dozen plastic totes in my garage. I said the items were stored neatly...not the totes. I had to dig thru a zillion totes to find said items. *Sigh*...one day, I'll have everything on a shelf,...labeled...(yeah,...*snort*...right!).

Anyways, as you can see. I went all out...HECK...it's only a dollar! *grin*. I absolutely LOVE the dollar tree. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! So, I started out with this pile here:

And once I had glued, stuffed, arranged, and tied, I ended up with THIS:

It's nothing spectacular I know, but my house has been seriously lacking in any sort of fall decor. And when I say lacking, I mean ABSENT...so this is my first calling to the spirits of fall to come to sunny and HOT Florida. I have a few pumpkins that I'm working on as well. Hopefully they will get done this weekend. We'll see. In the meantime be sure to check out all the sites on today's blog hop.

This...&...That...to make...

Ok peeps...this is where I'm getting started. I'm going to post my first real project that I'm going to do this weekend. While the furniture would be great to do right now, I'm going to be realistic to my motivation level at this time...:)

I've always loved the ocean themes that I see in books. No,...not the pirate or sea shells EVERYWHERE...but the easy going, relaxed, and country style ocean theme. I love color and texture. Unfortunately, my wallet has always been a bit shallow for the ones I see in PB or other high end stores. *Ahhhh*...yes, I would LOVE to go and be a total freak in Peir One and PB and Restoration Hardware...but alas, I will admit it...I am poor. Ok...maybe not "poor", but defintely cash "short".

Anyways, I haven't posted pics of my lovely HUGE-NORMOUS bathroom yet...but I will...soon! In the meantime, I will be working on a few "little" projects, and teasing you along the way.

Sooooo...the first project will be made with THIS:
AND...THIS...

Hmmmmm...what do you suppose it will be...haa haa!!! You'll find out soon!

Redo...REdo...reDO...

*Sigh*...so many possibilities and so little time. I went around my house this morning and decided I was in dire need of a REdo! While I totally love my house, it's just...well...BLAH. It doesn't scream "ME!". It just sort of whispers..."hi". Anyways, I've decided to take some pics of the things I'm going to change and hopefully in the next millenium, it will get done. Of course, any input from my peeps would be greatly appreciated. SO....first off is my LOVELY diningroom table. And yes...that IS a pile of crafting stuff behind it..SHHHHH...just pretend it isn't there, that's what I do...:)
AS you can see...it's pretty beat up. What you don't know is that in the center of this lovely table is...an extention! And said extention wasn't used much soooooo...yup, it's not the same color...ding, ding...give the lady a prize. The table is however, in GREAT shape. It's solid wood with solid wood chairs and I actually have six of them. Also, the chairs are pretty beat up too, as seen here:

NOT really sure where the scratches came from, one can only imagine in my house. I'm guessing it was a dog who was trying to get to whatever had been left by my children on the table. Go figure. Anyways, as you can see, the chairs are pretty sturdy and fairly decent style wise. Oh...did I mention when I purchased this table THIRTEEN years ago, that I paid a whopping $300 for it...:) YUP! See why I don't want to part with it? I mean WHERE can you get a solid wood table and SIX chairs these days for $300? Ummmm...NO WHERE!
So...putting on my thinking creative hat here and squishing my eyes together, and tapping my heels three times to see if it helps...heehee...crud, well, okay then, guess I'll have to roll my sleeves up and get messy. I'll post updated pics as time gooooeeesss by...:)

Here,...and here...

Well, it seems I've finally stumbled...fell...got pushed by guilt, whatever...into the blogging world. I decided I needed a place of my own to collect, and unscramble my thoughts as well as post some of my creations. So...bear with me as I get used to all of this and please, I'm begging you...follow me...
